So, I will not be returning to the music room next year, but I do plan on coming back someday. I have been thinking of things to help my student teacher in the interview process and I know I will need these tips again in the future for myself. I am by no means an expert, but no one reads this blog anyway, so no worries. They might ask you to sing in the interview. They might ask you your best and worst qualities. They WILL ask you how you deal with classroom management. give detailed answers. They might ask how you deal with staff or parent issues. tell them your big on communication, parent contact, etc. They might want a sample of your daily lesson. be detailed again...kids come in a look at rhythm on board, sing hello song, yada yada. They will probably ask why you want to be a elementary music teacher. Tell them what you've seen, what you like, things you would change.
